Goddess plot V3 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Ranma was sitting uncomfortably at the table sweating nervously, the rest of the family sat around the table looking horrified at the colourful and smoking concoction placed in front him. The mixture was mainly a green lumpy substance with swirls of blues, reds and yellows mixed in and the smell was almost enough to knock Ranma out. Sitting next to him, watching eagerly, was his violent tomboy of a fiancee Akane, who had supposedly cooked the food that looked like it was stolen from a nuculear plant. As she watched her fiance stare at dismally at the food for several minuites, her expression slowly turned to disapointment before quickly switching to anger. "Well" Akane growled out "aren't you going to eat it? I worked really hard to make that." Her eyes lit up with fury and barely suppressed rage. Ranma was once again refusing to eat her deliciose and lovingly coked food, which in turn scared the rest of her family away from eating as well. Ranma swallowed his nervousness and jabbed at the food with his chopsticks, he sweatdroped when the food split and dodged the chopsticks. He looked pledingly at Akane, who glared back at him promising death if he didnt eat. He jabbed several more times at the food, each time the food dodged and it seemed to be getting better at it too. He tried one final time, when the food jumped off the plate and leapt towards Genma who cowed in fear. Akane pulled out her mallet and swung it at the troublemaking morsal before it hit Genma, sending it back to the plate unconsciouse. She pointed angrily at the plate, which by this time was rapidly desolving and was threatning to ruin the table and then the floor. "Now eat it before I get really angry." She screamed, hefting her mallet and making threatning movements to her fiances head. He jabbed once again at the food, dissapointed that this time it couldnt try to evade him. He slowly grabbed a small portion and raised it to his lips, he prepared himself for ananother near death experiance and place it onto his tongue. Immediately he felt his whole mouth burning, his tongue felt like he had just licked rar sewage from a hot plate coved in glass and sandpaper, then licked the inside of a volcano afterwards. He quickly reached for his glass of water sitting on the table and accidentally knocked it over in his haste and triggering his curse. Ranma now a she, jumped to her feet intending to rush into the kitchen and dunk her head into the sink to put out the fire and then stick it into the freezer to prevent the fire from starting up again. Before she could move even two steps, Akane had exploded with the rage and anger she had been holding in for the past several minuites , she intended to punish him badly in her perceived rightouse fury, "Ranmaaa how dare you insult my cooking like that." She scremed, sounding like a banshee. "I spent hours preparing that, the least you could do is eat it properly and say thank you." Ranma stared incredulously at Akane, wondering if she was clinically insane. "Thank you?" She rasped, past her still burning throught "Why should I thank you for trying to kill me? Stupid tomboy." Akane's mallet suddenly flared into existence, swinging around in a powerfull ark aimed at Ranma's head. "Ranma you idiot" She bellowed, just as a loud crack is heard followed by a squishing sound. The mallet had struck Ranma's temple with it's usuall unerring accuracy, sending her flying away with a spray of blood into the wall. She hung there for a moment like a piece of artwork, before collapsing bonelessly to the floor, a small puddle of blood spreading out from her head. Suddenly her whole body started twitching madly, her arms and legs spasming violently and blood frothing from her mouth. "Ranma" Kasumi shreiked, she had been watching her sisters actions with growing horror and dread. She quickly leapt to her feet and rushed to the downed redhead, cradling her broken and bloody head in her arms. She tried futilly to calm her down and stop the twitching, while everybody else just sat around, too shocked to do anything. Akane stared at Ranma in shock and growing horror at what she had done, she had seriously injured her invincible fiance. The room sighed with releif when Ranma's movements finally stilled, the releif soon turned to despair as her breathing slowed and then stoped altogether. Kasumi gently layed ranma down, tears streaming from her eyes. She placed her mouth over Ranma's and breathed into her airways trying to resuscitate her. She proceeded to perform CPR while weeping for the only real freind she had left, the only person in her family who helped her out from time to time. Akane watched in horror as her sister kissed her fiancé. She was about to shout an objection when she realised what was really happening. Her horror and jealousy quickly turned to despair. She dropped her blood stained mallet, it fell to the floor with a thud leaving a crescent shaped blood stain. She backed away slowly, shaking her head from side to side while muttering "no, no, no it cant be" under her breath. After several minuites of performing CPR, Kasumi burst into full out sobbing. She cradled ranmas blood soaked head once more in her arms and gently stroked her hair. "Sh... She's d. d... dead." She finally stuttered out to her family. Genma burst into tears, going against his own hypocritical rules that men don't cry. His son was dead, after a terrible life caused by him. He never even told the boy he was proud of him, instead he mocked and insulted him everyday of his life untill his death. His boy died beleiving he was not good enough for him or Nodoka and that he was unloved. That wasn't really true, he loved his son with all his heart, he was just an idiot who wanted his son to be the very best martial artist in the world, and he only thought with his stomach without any thought for consequences. Soun joined his freind in tears, his crying was for once actually real instead of the crocodile tears he usually used to get his way. Now the schools would never be joined, a fine young man was dead and his poor baby girl would go to jail. Nabiki felt her icy exterior shatter as she watched her blood soaked elder sister greive over Ranma's motionless body. Tears sprang to her eyes as she thought about every time she had taken advantage of Ranma's naivety to con herself some extra yen. Every time she had made Ranma's life even harder by selling his location and hiding spots to the fianceé's, making it so he never had a moments peace. She felt even worse as she tought of every time Ranma had helped her out and even saved the family without asking for anything in return. She finally collapsed to the ground sobbing, and curled up in a fetal position. She was a monster and she knew it, and now she had no way to redeem herself to Ranma. Akane shreiked with despair and ran towards Ranma's still body, snatching her from Kasumi's grip. "Im so, so sorry Ranma." She tearfully cried to the still redhead "I didn't mean to... I... I love you." She had malleted Ranma many times before, and even told him to got and die many times, but she had never really wanted this. She wished she could take back every mean thing she had ever said, and every malleting, especially this last one. She looked at her silent fiance with tear filled eyes, her heart breaking at the damage she had caused. Wishing to be left alone, Akane gently lowered Ranma back to the floor. Ranmas emotionless and dead gaze turned to the side as Akane jolted her. The other side of Ranma's head came into veiw showing a lot of blood and a glimpse of bone. Kasumi gasped as she quickly examined the wound where Akane's mallet had struck. "Her... Her heads ca... It's caved in" She shudderd "Their's no way she could have survived." She shook her head sadly "She was dead before she even hit the wall." Nabiki blanched, her face losing all blood and turning pale."Well sis" She hissed, turning towards Akane "I know you always said you hated him and didn't want the engagement, but to kill him? I guess you finally got what you wanted." She glared angrily at her little sister. Akane sobbed even harder, "I Didn't mean it" she shouted loudly. "I love you, please come back Ranma." She looked despairingly at the redhead. "I love you" she whispered shakily, tears streaming down her cheeks and dripping onto Ranma's pale face. Everybody shook their heads sadly, tears streamed from all eyes present except for two. Those eyes would never cry or see anything again. ---------- Meanwhile up in heaven Ranma-chan was standing in front of the largest set of golden gates she had ever see. She looked around her and saw a sea of clouds stretching out behind her as far as she could see, but nothing else. She turned back to the gates and looked througe the bars, she saw a large pathway lined with small trees and flowers leading to a large six story building. The construction of the building looked like nothing she had ever seen before, sort of like a greek temple with a little egyption and japanese design mixed in. She stood around for several minuites wondering what to do, untill she finally got bored and decided to try the gates. She gave them a sharp tug hoping they would open, but they didn't budge at all. Frustrated she gave them a hard kick, a large clang rang out dissapearing into the distance, but still they didn't move. She growled out with frustration and turned to walk away. After she had taken no more than five steps away she heard a click from behind her. She turned back and saw the gates slowly opening revealing a beautiful golden haired women with long flowing white robes walking gracefully from the building she had noticed before. The woman smiled gently and gestured for Ranma to come closer. Her whole posture seemed to emit calm and serenity. "Hello Ranma." She said in a sweet voice. Ranma jerked, surprised that the woman knew her name. "Who are you? How do you know me?" She asked, pointing to herself. The woman laughed gently, her laughter soundling like tiny little bells. "My name is Celia, I am a goddess and i am in charge of the Heavenly Resources department." Ranma gaped at her in shock. "Doe... does this mean I'm dead?" She asked, gesturing at the now open gates and the goddess. Celia nodded sadly. "Yes, im afraid your fianceé killed you with a mallet strike to the head. It was just a matter of time before she got in a lucky hit, she struck part of your skull that had been cracked and weakened by your father when you were a child." She pointed to Ranma's right temple. Ranma's face grew sad before scrunching up in thought making her look quite cute. After a minuite of thought she cried out "I remember... It was when I was seven, pop's thought I needed toughening up so he started chucking large rocks at me." She paused in thought, her face getting grimmer "One of em hit my head, I woke up in hospital a while after that with my head all bandaged up. That didn't stop him though, he dragged me out of the hospital and did it again and again until I couldn't move anymore. It took me weeks to recover from that, pop's wasn't very happy about that. He kept calling me a girl and told me I should be healing like a man." The goddess's smile became forced. 'That man's going to hell, I'll make sure of it personally.' She thought feircely. "Anyway, I'm here to give you a special honor. I have been told to bring you to Kami-sama himself." She smiled widely. "Apparantly he is going to give you a choice, I dont know what, instead of you just being reincarnated or hanging around heaven like everybody else." She gently put her hand on the redheads shoulder, snapping her from her shocked gaze. "Come on" She spoke gently "Theirs nothing to worry about." Ranma nodded shakily. She gently gave Ranma's shoulder a squeeze and guided her througe the golden gates. As Ranma walked into the building, her neck swivelled around in all directions taking in the sights. She had walked into a large open room that was mostly empty. Large greek pillars held up the roof in the centre of the room, along side the back wall rested a line of desks each connected by a little barrier that prevented people from passing the desks to get to a door located behind each of them. Only three desks where currently in use, goddess's sat typing on a transparent computer terminal while asking for details from the people lined up in front of the desks. Noticing Ranma's gaze, Celia spoke up. "They interview the dead, giving them the option of staying in heaven or being reborn." She paused in thought "They also tell you if any freinds or family are currently in heaven. If you choose to stay, you can stay with them and you can still choose to be reborn at any time." She gently grabbed her arm and directed her to a door to the left of the room away from the desks. "Whats througe their" Ranma asked pointing at the door, noticing a complex keypad and hand scanner located on the right side of the door. Celia smiled "Only a very few select people get to go throughe this door." She answeared softly. "That leads to asgard, home of the gods. Heaven is the place spirits go to, as well as hell. Some god's work in heaven, but they live in asgard. Same for demons, they work in hell but live in Nifleheim." Ranma nodded, satisfied with the answear. They stopped at the door, Celiea entered a long string of symbols into the keypad and then placed her hand on the scanner. The door clicked open, showing a small square room with a complex metal symbol embedded in the floor. The symbol was a mixture of circles and squiggly lines forming a complex pattern. The golden haired goddess gestured towards the symbol. "This is a glyph of transportation. Normally god's and goddess's can travel using a medium, like water or mirrors, It's differant for each individual. However mortals or spirits cant be taken to Asgard using those means, so a more powefull teleport spell is needed. Thats what this is for." She moves Ranma onto small circle near the middle of the symbol whilst she stepped onto a circle next to it. "Dont worry it's quite safe." Ranma nodded, breathing in deeply to calm her nerves. Celia started gesturing with her hands, muttering an incantation in a strange language Ranma couldn't understand. The glyph started to glow a light blue, it slowly got brighter untill in a flash of blue light they both dissapeared. ---------- They reappered with a flash in a room identical to the one they just left. Ranma staggered around, feeling dizzy. "You could have warned me." She muttered disgruntedly, putting her hand to her head to stave of the headache. A tinkling laughter came from Celia. "Im sorry, I forgot. Goddesses dont get dizzy when teleporting." She placed her arm around Ranma's shoulders "Come on, Kami-sama awaits." She led the redhead out of the room into the middle of the strangest city she had ever seen. It was a weird and confusing mix of styles all in one place. She could see greek, Italian, american and even japanese buildings all around her, as well as futureistic looking skyscrapers. "Come on, theirs time for sight seeing later." Celia said with a smile. She dragged the redhead through large crowds of kami, Ranma's head shifting everywhere as she tried to take in the sights all at once. They passed what looked like houses and offices, even a large shopping district untill they finally came upon a building that resembled a large and elaberate japanese temple. Celia gestured towards the temple "This is Kami-samas office, dont worry he's very freindly. He loves all people and creatures... well except demons." Ranma's mind boggles at the temple. "Why's it look japanese?" She stops in thought "And if he doesnt like demons, why's he keep them around? surely he can get rid of them. Celia laughed, she loved the expressions on new peoples faces. "Nobody knows what the temple or Kami-sama really looks like. It shift it's appearance to match you're expectations. You are japanese so you see a temple, a christian would see a church." She walked to the doors to the temple and opened them. "As for demons, if everything went perfectly down on midgard, then their would be no advancement. After all why would you need martial arts for self defence if nobody fights? A lot of technical and medical advancements are possible thanks to wars. Finally and most importantly everything must be in balance, not too much good or evil, for life to exist and grow." Ranma scratched the back of her head. "Ah I get it, but if life is supposed to be balanced, then why was mine so bad?" They walked into a elaborately decorated room. The walls were painted with scenes of God's fighting demons, and angels playing harps, and for some strange reason a computer shaped like a tree. A large door is in the corner, a dark oak wooden desk sit's next to it with a receptionist sitting behind it working on a computer. Celia stooped walking and turned to the redhead. "Two disbalances can cancel each other, causing you to live in an interesting way. In your example, you are single minded, overly good and very manly." Ranma nodded, understanding so far. "Therfore the scales of chaos and order as well as the scales of attraction were altered. It made you very chaotic as well as very desirerable. Since you pushed yourslef to be far more manly than you should have, the chaos you generated was enourmous. Kami-Sama will be able to explain more." They walked over to the receptionist, Ranma looked around the computer at the screen while Celia spoke to the other goddess. To her surprise she found the recetionist had been playing Solitaire while tryin to look busy, she sweatdropped and quickly looked away before she was noticed. "Kami-sama will see you now" The receptionist gestured to the door without even looking up. Celia nodded and turned to her companion "go on, no need to worry. I hope we meet again." She gave the redhead a quick hug, then left. Ranma opened the door to Kami-Sama's office, feeling really nervouse. She walked througe a long wooden passage untill she came across an extravagant wooden door, carved beautifully with angels playing together. She felt a huge power on the other side and knew he was there. Not knowing whether to enter or not, she knocked. A loud voice resonated around and within her. "Enter my child" Nervously she opened the door to the office. She looked around, it looked like the interior to a japanese shrine except there were plants scatterd around in large pots, as well as several small trees. In the center of the room sat a elderly man dressed in cerimonial robes sitting behind a large wooden desk. A holigraphic terminal lay on his desk, showing Ranma's male and female form's as well as stats and a list of her acheivements. "Please sit down child." He said gently, waving his hand towards her. A comfy looking arm chair appeared in front of his desk. She nervously walked to the chair and sat down. "You wanted to see me sir?" She asked nervously, her gaze flicking from the terminal to Kami-sama. He chuckles softly. "Calm down child, I have asked you here to give you a choice. Something you have had very little of during you life." Looking down sadly, she nodded. 'Pops always made the decisions for me. I never had any say, even when it came to which Tendou to marry.' "I understand child." He said softly, he reached forwards and gently tucked his finger under her chin, lifting her head so that he could gaze into her clear blue eyes. "Because of the kindness of your heart, as well as other reasons which will become clear later, I have decided to offer you a choice very few people get." He typed rapidly on the screen, bringing up three options. "Normally when you die, you would be offerd two choices. To stay in heaven, watching over your family while not actually being able to help or do anything to change anything you see. Or you could be reborn into the world as a new person, a blank slate. You wouldn't keep any memories and you would be reborn a female." Ranma blinked then frowned, she looked at Kami-sama with a questioning gaze. "Why a female?" She looked down at herself. "In fact why am I a girl right now?" He looked at her sadly. "Celia explained a liitle about balance right?" Ranma nodded. "Well your soul should be balanced more towards being feminine. All souls are primarily orientated towards one gender, though the amount usually differs person to person. Akane has a mainly masculine soul making her very tomboyish. You however have a mainly feminine soul" "Im a guy" Ranma angrily shouted. "Theirs nothing female about me." Kami-sama sighed. "Your soul has been injured, it's gender forcefully torn into something else it shouldn't be, releasing large amounts of chaos. Your fathers training, as well as you're mothers manly attititude has pushed your soul in a way it shouldn't have ever been pushed. If you had never been trained to be manly, a man amongst men, you probebly would have been a kind, caring and considerate man." Ranma was about to object when kami-sama cut her off with a look. "Instead it made you into a stupid obnoxious, arrogant jerk. Then you gained your curse. Instead of accepting it like you should have, allowing it to heal your soul, you overcompensated for what you felt was your lost manhood, further injuring your soul." He shook his head sadly "No matter the choice, you have to remain female to repair the damage, else you'r soul will tear itself apart." Ranma got up and stalked around the room, muttering angrily under her breath. "Stupid pop's, I knew everything was his fault. At least he cant do anything else to me now I'm dead." She finally calmed down a little and dropped back into the chair. "Ok so whats the third choice?" Kami-sama looked at her amused, he quirked an eyebrow before answearing. "The third choice is one only a few have ever received, I would like for you to become a goddess." She looked at him, shocked, her eyes as wide as saucers. "A... a goddess? Me? But theres no way I'm good enough to be a goddess. Isn't there some preist or something that you could ascend?" He laughed merrily. "You are more than good enouge my dear child. Despite your upbringing, you valued honour above anything else. You tried to help anybody you felt needed help. You saved the lives of countless people and stopped countless more from getting injured by thugs. Finally you performed a great act that instantly brought you to my attention." "What?" She asked curiosly "what did I do?" He lauged again "You will find out eventually if you choose this option." Ranma frowned. "Dont think getting me curiouse will make me choose to be a goddess." "Of course," he replied gently "I wont be disapointed no matter what you choose. I gave everybody free will for a reason." She thought aboute her choices for several minuites, thinking about all three choices from several angles. There was only one that she even remotely considered, after all she had sacrificed her whole life to learn the art so she wasn't about to give it up now. "I think I want to be a goddess." Kami-samas face broke into a large smile. "Any particular reason my daughter" She nodded. "I went through so much hardship and wasted so much of my life to learn my martial arts skill. It feel like it would have been a wasted life if I lose all those skills being reborn, and I want to continue living." He frowned slightly at her. "Surely you dont consider the peoples lives you saved a waste?" He gestured towards the screen where pictures of men and women scrolled by, even a few children. Each one had been save by her at some point. "No" She shouted vehemently, looking at the pictures sadly. "It's just that I never had much of a life, It was all taken up by learning martial arts. I dont regret it, but I dont want to lose something I sacrificed so much for." He nodded, a pleased smile forming. "I understand daughter, Come here." He gestured to his side. Ranma got up and nervously stood next to him, her body shacking a little. He raised his hands and placed a large hand to cover her face while the other rested over her heart. His hands started glowing a bright white, sending streamers of light away from the backs of his hands that looped around her and entered her body. Once it finished she wobbled on her feet and started to collapse, she was caught by Kami-sama and settled gently into her seat. "Your spirit has been altered to that of a goddess. You are now the goddess of Time and change, second class, category three, trainee. You have partial control of time, past present and future, the reason for which will become clear soon. You also have controll over changes, everything like Jusenkyou or you're Teacher, miss Hinako's age changing falls under you're domain." She nodded, partially understanding what he meant. "So Im a goddess now? I dont feel much differant." "No" He replied "not yet, You have to return to your body. You will then be linked to Yggdrasil, the world computer that controls reality. In the linking process, your body will be repaired and converted to that of a goddess. An angell will also be created from your soul, she will have her own personality and will be able to help you when needed. She will always be linked to your soul, and that is were she will rest when not needed." Ranma smiled happily and nodded. "So I'll have a permanent freind that will never leave me?" "Yes esentially that is true." He paused for a moment, looking at a message on his screen. "Ah your teachers have arrived." He gestured towards the door. "Please enter my Daughters." He called to the doors. Ranma was surprised when three familliar goddess's entered the room. They bowed towards Kami-sama and then smiled towards her. "I know you." Ranma said pointing at them. 'Where do I know them from?' She stared at them for a minuite, nobody saying anything. "Aha, I know, I helped you out against that group of demons a few months ago." They nodded and smiled. She turned towards Kami-sama "So this is the secret reason why I became a goddess? Because I helped them?" He nodded. "Yes my daughter, allow me to introduce the norn goddess Belldandy, Urd and Skuld." Belldandy and Skuld bowed towards Ranma, Urd didn't move untill Skuld slapped the back of her head. "Why you little pipsqueek" Urd growled, grabbing Skuld in a headlock and rubbing her hair. Skuld squeeled "Get off me you old hag." She pulled a round device from her robes which exploded, sending both goddess's fllying to the opposite sides of the room. Ranma sweat dropped. Kami-sama watched with amusement. "Oh my" Said Belldandy, resting her face in her hands in embarrasment. Ranma quickly looked around for Kasumi. "Ahem" Kami-sama politely coughed. Everybody stopped what they were doing and looked towards him. He spoke towards Ranma, gesturing towards the others. "They each controll one aspect of time, the past, present and the future. You however controll a small portion of each. As you can see Urd and Skuld dont exactly get along all the time which causes a slight disharmony with the time stream. Having you controll time itself will help calm it down when they fight. You will eventually gain full and complete power of time, as a backup in case anything should happen to one of them or they require a break." Skuld jumped around excited. "Wow really father? Thats so great, we can all teach her." She ran up to Ranma and gave her a hug. Ranma stiffened at first, slightly nervouse about the large hammer on the small goddesse's back, but she soon relaxed and returned the hug, glad that she was making new freinds. Belldandy smiled at her serenely, Urd just smirked. "Yes I want you three to teach Ranma how to be a goddess." Kami-Sama said, grinning inwardly at seeing Skuld and Ranma, two lonely people, becomeing freinds. "Yes" Skuld cried out, pumping her arm and dancing around excitedly. Kami-sama's expression grew more serious. "Ranma I have a mission I would like for you to undertake. You will have a few weeks to get your affairs in order, then I would like for you to travel to scotland and attend a school for mortal witches and wizards. There is a wizard there that is very important to the future of the wizarding world as well as for normal people. He has attacted the attention of several demons, who wish to kill him to help out a dark wizard. If this happens, the wizards are doomed." The three norns were surprised "But how can she fight against demons? She wont have enough time to train." Belldandy asked. Ranma nodded, feeling very nervous. "Why with martial arts of coarse. She has proven very capable of dealing with demons, having killed two of them in your fight." He looked at his screen. "I dont expect anything higher than class two, besides you will train her in the basics before the mission. During the mission she will have to be trained at night. Show her the doppelganger technique first so she wont be missing from her bed." He thought for a moment "Also dont forget that you all posses powers over time, so you can train as much as you want in several weeks. Wizarding magic could also be quite usefull to use against them. While not totally affective, it should slow them down and confuse them." Skuld started crying "Why do we have to teach her at night" She wailed "I want my sleep." Urd smirked "You crybaby, you leave teaching her to the proffesionals." She puffed out her chest in pride. "Yea we should leave her for Belldandy." Skuld responded, smirking back. Belldandy once again had her head in her hands as her sisters continued to fight. Kami-sama ignored the fighting. "Ranma my daughter, I have one final thing to say before you return." She turned from watching the fighting sisters. "Yes what is it?" He smiled gently "I think you should choose a more feminine name, Ranko should do fine." Ranma was about to protest when he continued "After all you are female now, and maybe you can use this as a oppertunity for a new life. She thought about it before finally nodding. "Yes I think I would like to change my name. Hello my name is Ranko, goddess of change and time, second class, category three, pleased to meet you." Kami-sama chuckled. "Very well Ranko, you will receive the appropiete paperwork tomorrow. It's now time for you to return." He turned his gaze towards Belldandy, who was watching Skuld tear into Urd. "Please tell your sisters to begin training Ranko in two days." He typed on his screen, a white glow suddenly surounded Ranko. "You will be sent back to your body, I will see you in two weeks for the full mission breafing. Goodbye Ranko, my daughter." The three norn's quickly said goodbye, Urd and Skuld breifly pausing in their fight. Ranko looked around at everybody, happy tears forming in her eyes. "Goodbye father, sisters." With a bright flash, she was gone. Kami-sama and Belldandy smiled at each other. "I have a feeling she will do us proud." He said. Belldandy nodded "She is very caring and strong willed, I belive so as well." They both sweatdrop when a large explosion knocked out Urd and Skuld, there charred forms falling to the ground on opposite sides of the room. ---------- Back at the dojo everybody was greiving over Ranma's death. Kasumi and Nabiki were comforting each other, crying on the others shoulder. Akane had curled up into a fetal position, still sobbing. Soun and Genma had started drinking sake, tears still falling from their eyes as they miserably tried to play a game of shogi. Everybody was shocked when a bright beam of light somehow passed througe the ceiling to Ranma's motionless body, enveloping it completely and lifting her into the air. Her wounds swiftly healed, the blood being cleared away and replaced. Her form subtly shifted into that of a more feminine and beautiful woman. Several smaller and more intense beams appeared and focused on her face, causing three blue marks to appear, one under each eye and one on her forehead. The light increased in intensity, causing the marks to change into shapes, the ones under the eyes changed to upside down triangles while the one on her forhead resembled half a yin yang symbol. Finally the thin beams dissapered and the large beam changed her clothes into a beautifull set of goddess robes, mostly white with red trim. Fingerless gloves appeared on her hands, and toeless slippers on her feet. Her body suddenly jerked and she drew in a deep breath, she lowerd slowly to the ground wher the large beam cut off and disappeared. Everybody rushed to her side in excitement. They watched as her clear blue eyes opened, looking like endless oceans buried deep within her eyes. They all stared at her in shock at the transformation, and the fact that she came back to life. "Oh My!" Kasumi muttered, bringing her hand to her mouth to cover her shock. Akane was the first to move, grabbing Ranma up in a tearfull embrace. "Im sorry" She wailed, "I didn't mean to... to..." She trailed off, not wanting to admit what she had done. Ranma's face scrunched up in disgust, loathing for Akane clear in her eyes. She grabbed Akanes shoulder and forcefully pushed her off, her expression changing slightly to sadness. Akane looked at her inquiringly, a little hurt from Ranma's rejection. "Im sorry Akane" Ranma said sadly. "You have killed any love I may have had for you with that damned mallet." She looked up into Akanes eyes, her gaze burning into Akane's. "Just like you killed me." She continued sadly. Akane broke down into hysterical crying and ran from the room, stomping up the stairs and slamming her bedroom door shut. Nabiki scowled at Ranma, even though she knows that the red head has every right to be at least ten times meaner to her sister, she still doesn't want to see her sister upset like this. "What do you mean 'Killed you' Saotome?" She growled out. "You don't look dead to me." Ranma looked down at her hands, her fingers fidgeting as she figured out how to answear. She breathed in a shakey breath and gulped. "I died and my sprit was taken to see Kami-Sama. He gave me a few choices, one of them he normally doesn't offer. First I could have been reborn as a girl with no memories at all. While I could of been happy this way, I didn't want to lose the art I sacrificed my whole life to learn, I didn't want my life to have been a waste. Second, I could stay as a spirit and live in heaven, watching over my family with no way to interfear or help. This again is a waste of my life learning the art. And finally the option very few people get to choose, I could become a goddess. I would keep my skills and memories, and I would be able to help people. I would also get extra powers to help keep the wourld running, and to save people." The room was strangely quite, everybodys eyes had become as wide as saucers as they were shocked into silence at what Ranma was telling them. Nabiki was the first to regain her senses, "And?" She queried. The red haired goddess giggled to herself, enjoying the shock on her families faces. "Well it's obviouse Nabiki, only one choice would bring me back." She raised her hands in the air and gestured towards herself "You are now looking at Ranko, goddess of change and time, second class, category three, trainee." Ranko giggled again as she watched the family face faulght into the floor. "Oh and I wont be staying here any more, I've got some training to do and then Kami-Sama has a mission for me." The fathers had both been silent up to this point, both still in shock over Ranma dieing and then comeing back to life, but with Ranko threatning to leave, there plans were in danger. They both jumped into action and started shouting as loud as they could. "You honourless girl." Genma shouted, splittle flying everywhere. "You change back right now and marry Akane." Soun nodded his agreement with his old freind as he used his demon head technique. "Ranma, you will marry my sweet Akane. Thats final." The red haired goddess didn't even flinch, she simply wiped the saliva off her face and glared at her father. "Pops, how would you like me to tell mother of those prostitutes that you slept with on the trip?" She then bursts into giggles "And dont you dare pretend you know what honour is, I know about the thirty four engagements you made for me, inclueding the six for my female side. I imagine mother would have a nice sharp katana waiting for you." Genma paled and backed away, his face showing how petrified he was at the thought. He would have to lay low for a while and then somehow persuade his dishonarable son to marry Akane. Ranko then turned her attention towards soun. She tilted her head curiously as she looked at his demon head. She hid her smirk as a brilliant idea came to her. "Wow a demon, Kami-Sama said we goddess should make sure that demons stay in hell were they belong." She lifted a hand and made a white chi ball appear. "Should I banish you back from where you came?" She laughed inwardsly as Soun's demon head quickly disapeared and he started begging her tearfully to let him stay. She just ignored him, better to let him stew fow a while. Finally Nabiki had reagained enough sense from all the odd things happening to ask a question that was pretty much on everybody's mind. "Ranma" she started before getting glared at by the goddess. "Ok Ranko, Why are the only options Kami-sama offered you, are with you as a girl?" Ranko glared at Genma who was still sweating nervously from Ranko's earlier threat. She quickly repeated everything Kami-Sama had told her about souls and how hers had been damaged by the stupid panda. "... and because of the damage the stupid panda has done to my soul, I had to either become a goddess or be reborn as a girl in order to heal my soul." Ranma glared at genma again causing him to shiver in fear at having a goddess angry at him even if it was his own son... erm daughter. Finaly having enough of having to explain, Ranko quickly got up and left for the bathroom to clean up. As she passed by the mirror she stopped abruptly and swore to herself. She stared at her reflection and started glowing red. "Dammit, Why did this have to happen to me?" She wailed. Everybody rushed in asking what was wrong. Ranko frowned and then pointed dejectedly to her reflection. "I... I... I knew I was going to become a goddess." She started, sadness growing in her eyes. "But WHY did I have to become even more beautifull than before?" Tears streamed down her eyes. "I dont wanna be beautifull." Everybody sweatdropped and Nabiki smirked. Trust Ranko to accept being a girl but hate anything that makes her more attractive towards men. Ranko was finally beginning to calm down when she heard sounds comeing from the living room. Everybody looked around at each other, everyone was there, even Akane who had calmed down as was wondering what Ranko was doing. If it was Nodoka visiting, she would have shouted out. Anybody else would either knock or bash through a wall because they where too stupid to figure out how a door works. The brave red haired goddess cautiously snuck out of the bathroom ready to pounce on any unsuspecting burglers or challengers. She was surprised to see three familliar goddesses standing around looking for something.
